When President Donald Trump decided to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, he put the lives of 120,000 young Texans of color at risk. As Latinos, we make up almost one third of Texas voters. Together, we can help protect our undocumented brothers and sisters.
PLEDGE TO PROTECT DREAMERS WITH YOUR VOTE
President Donald Trump, and Texas leaders like Attorney General Ken Paxton who have worked to end the DACA program have one thing in common: they are elected by the people of Texas. As Latinos, we make up almost one third of Texas voters. Together, our votes can help protect our undocumented brothers and sisters. Take the pledge to stand with dreamers and register to vote.
TELL CONGRESS TO PASS A CLEAN DREAM ACT
Right now, there is a Dream Act in Congress that could protect dreamers. But some leaders in Congress want to hold hostage the dreams and future of 800,000 young people by trading protection for dreamers in exchange for money to fund immigration raids and other measures that will lead to the deportation of dreamers’ families. It is cruel to use dreamers as a bargaining chip to negotiate increased immigration enforcement that will hurt their families. Call your Texas Representative today and tell them to pass a Clean Dream Act.
Here’s what to say: Hi, my name is ___ and I’m calling to urge you to protect dreamers and their families. As a Texan, I support the over 800,000 immigrant youth and demand that Congress pass a CLEAN Dream Act without dangerous enforcement add-ons that will hurt other immigrants.
