Levantate Leadership Institute
Preparing the next generation of community leaders
The Jolt Levantate Leadership Institute is preparing the next generation of community leaders and activists in Texas. Through the development of core organizing skills and political education, participants will gain access to tools to build a movement of engaged Latinx voters and shift the political landscape of Texas for a more just democracy that serves all Texans.
2020 virtual program dates:
- Session 1: Aug. 24, 26, 31 & Sept. 2
- Session 2: Sept. 22, 24, 29 and Oct.1
What to Expect
The Levantate Leadership Institute will provide you the opportunity to:
- Become knowledgeable about Latino/a/x identity, organizing culture and history.
- Have the tools necessary to combine digital organizing with on-the-ground organizing.
- Deliver a powerful story of self to organize people for a cause.
- Develop core organizing skills (needed to be effective leaders in our communities).
- Gain political awareness and a sense of the impact you can make in the Latino community.
- Meet like-minded community members, future community leaders, and people who know the importance of civic engagement.
THE FUNDAMENTALS OF ORGANIZING
Participants will learn the skills they need to launch and manage a grassroots organizing campaign. The 2020 institute will consist of four virtual trainings.
PROGRAM COMMITMENTS
Participants should have a personal commitment to social justice and be able to attend all four sessions.

Enrollment in the Jolt Levantate Leadership Institute is free. In 2020, there will be two opportunities to participate. Choose the session with dates that are right for you.
