Jolt Action

It’s that time of year already! Early voting for the 2022 Texas Primary Election begins on February 14th. ¡Que Romantico! You can take that special someone to the polls with you and get voting done as early as possible. Whether you vote early, on election day, or you still need to register, Jolt has you covered with all the information revolving around the Texas Primary.

Voter Registration Deadline: January 31st

The most important step is making sure that you are registered to vote. Maybe it’s your first time voting (Congratulations, by the way!), or maybe you have voted before but recently changed your name or address. There are less than two weeks left, so make sure your friends and family know about the upcoming deadline.

Early Voting: February 14th - 25th

There are many reasons to vote early. It’s nice to get it out of the way and not have to worry about it. Sometimes life happens, and you never know if you will have a surprisingly busy day on Election Day and be prevented from voting. Plus, early voting lines are always shorter. We highly recommend you vote by February 25th and talk to your friends and family about going together.

Vote By Mail Application Deadline: February 18th

Because of either convenience or concerns over surging COVID-19 cases, many people might opt to vote with a mail-in ballot. Unfortunately, this has become harder after the passage of Senate Bill 1, and many applications are being rejected for not including an individual’s driver’s license number or other identifying information. If you must apply to vote by mail, the deadline is almost here!

Election Day: March 1st

We get it, not everyone will be able to vote early. Some people prefer to vote on election day. If that’s you, make sure you talk to everybody you can to ask if they have voted, and if not, find a way to bring them along to vote with you. Making a clear plan of how you will get to the polls and who you are bringing with will help guarantee that you cast your vote before the polls close. Don’t forget to bring a valid Voter ID and your Voter Registration Certificate if you have it.
