Board of Directors

Aaron Munoz

Board Chair

Aaron a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, earned his B.S. in Political Science in 2009 from DePaul University in Chicago, IL and his J.D. from Western State College of Law in Irvine, CA, in 2015.

In 2016, Aaron was an organizer with the Colorado Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign where he worked to organize, engage, and empower Latinos in Northeast Colorado to participate in the political process and exercise their right to vote. Currently, Aaron is an attorney and political consultant in the Coastal Bend region of Texas where he works to promote young, emerging Latino candidates and elected officials.

In addition to his work with Jolt, Aaron is on the Board of Directors for the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority, and is a Board Member with the Young Professionals of the Coastal Bend.

Aaron become Board Chair of Jolt Action in January 2022, and is committed to bolstering Jolt’s positive impact in our community not only through voter empowerment, but also in the areas of art, culture, and leadership.

Lorely De León​

Board Vice Chair

Lorely De León is a journalist, editor, photographer, nonprofit marketer, and multimedia producer. Lorely is among the first in her family to graduate from college. She currently holds the position of spokesperson and Assistant Director of Communications and Public Relations at AVANCE-Houston, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering low-income families with the skills and knowledge they require to break the cycle of poverty. Lorely has over 16 years of experience in media relations and has written numerous articles for popular weekly newspapers aimed at Houston’s Latino community. She has also produced over 100 educational videos on various topics and created news packages to showcase in Mexico and Central America. Throughout her career, Lorely has interacted with and interviewed numerous individuals, including authors, reviewers, political leaders, athletes, and singers, which she finds to be an exciting and dynamically advancing field. Lorely’s work has been featured in various outlets such as SemanaNews, ESPN Radio, the University of Houston Athletic Department, Cadena 3 (Mexico), and the Houston Dynamo. As the editor-in-chief of La Prensa de Houston, one of the largest newspapers for Latinos in Houston, she excelled in covering important news at the local, national, and international levels.

Patrick Moreno-Covington

Board Treasurer

Patrick Moreno-Covington is a Program Officer with Rockwell Fund, a private, place-based philanthropy based in Houston, Texas. As a Program Officer, Patrick works with community-based organizations to drive equitable outcomes for Houstonians in the health, housing and education spaces. He uses his position to advance community and power building efforts, promote innovative solutions to systemic challenges and center equity and community voice across each of Rockwell’s funding priorities.

Patrick is a proud native Houstonian with a passion for social justice and alternative forms of knowing whose interests have led him to roles in nonprofit administration, freelance journalism and narrative development. Prior to joining Rockwell Fund, Patrick worked with the Houston Endowment’s Learning and Evaluation and Program Teams on a variety of initiatives including Civic Engagement, Out-of-School Time, and Hate Crimes and Violence.

Outside of work, Patrick can be found watching, reading and listening to all things Liverpool F.C., enjoying watching his son playing baseball and biking around to his favorite places in Houston’s Fifth Ward and East End.

Patrick holds a B.A. in History-Political Science from Colorado College and a M.A. in Latin American Studies from New York University where his research focused on Afro-Mexicans and the legacy of the first Free Slave Town of the Americas Yanga, Veracruz.

Logan Davidson

Board Secretary

Logan Davidson brings a decade of experience in politics and communications in Texas, having honed his skills at both the state and federal level. A proud alumnus of Texas Tech University with an undergraduate degree and a master’s from the University of North Texas, Logan is deeply committed to mobilizing Texas’ abundant political resources to amplify the Latino vote through Jolt’s work, aiming for equitable representation in Texas’ future. 

His tenure as Chief of Staff to Representative Alex Dominguez of Cameron County and Deputy Campaign Manager for Jay Kleberg for Land Commissioner ignited his passion for South Texas and refined his expertise in policy, political strategy, and fundraising. Currently, Logan works as a political consultant and serves as executive director of a nonprofit. Logan finds balance with work by running half marathons, enjoying live music, and spending quality time with his cat, Tuck.

Diana Anzaldua

Board Member

Diana Anzaldua is a Texas native, Latina Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Trauma-Resilient Therapist in Austin, Texas. She is also the founder and owner of the 2021 award winning health and wellness center; Austin Trauma Therapy Center, and inclusive trauma-competent integrative wellness center. Diana completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology at St. Edward’s University, and Master’s of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas in Austin.

As the Founder of Contigo Wellness, is a social change activist and influential leader in mental health equity and reform. Her vision and leadership create a safe space for other survivors to grow, embrace their resilience, and heal; all-in-community with others. Diana and her clinical expertise has been featured in a number of magazines like: Bustle, Hello Giggles, Vice, Vox, PBS, The BBC, NASW, Social Work Advocacy, Yahoo, and The Atlantic Journal. Diana serves on the 2021-2024 Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities in Austin, and has received numerous awards for her work in community healing, public service and leadership. Diana is professionally Licensed in the States of Texas, North Carolina, and Nevada and has worked in numerous healing spaces with trauma survivors.

David Perez-Hernandez

Board Member

David serves as Principal at Roble Ventures, where he is responsible for sourcing, diligencing, and leading pre-seed investments. He has 6+ years of experience working with founders and C-level teams at venture-backed startups in Silicon Valley and Latin America on go-to-market (GTM) strategy, business development, product roadmaps, hiring, and raising venture capital. He served as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Mexico’s Business Binational program, where he worked with leading global accelerator Endeavor, helping early-stage startup companies fundraise and build expert networks. He also served as an Associate at a seed-stage fund based in Mexico City, Mexico working on portfolio services and organizing an entrepreneurship summit with top VCs and university students.

 
David holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he served as a Zuckerman and George Fellow at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership. He earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with high honors and was elected to the university’s homecoming court (Go Illini!)
