Austin, Texas — In a historic first for the leading Latino civic engagement organization, Jolt Action today unveiled its full slate of endorsed candidates for the 2026 Texas Democratic Primary. This marks the first time in Jolt’s nearly 10 year history that the organization has officially endorsed candidates in a primary election.
At this defining moment for our state and our democracy, this election demands courage, conviction, and fearless representation for young people, Latino communities, and working class Texans.
Today, Jolt stands with bold leaders committed to protecting our freedoms, advancing economic and immigrant justice, and strengthening a democracy that answers to working people.
Jolt Action’s Executive Director, Jackie Bastard, issued the following statement:
“Texas stands at a critical crossroads. Latino voters are among the largest and fastest growing political forces in the state, with the numbers and the momentum to determine outcomes across the ballot. Young Latinos represent a rising generation of leadership, grounded in lived experience and clear about what is at stake for our families and our future. When our communities organize and show up, we do more than participate. We shape the direction of this state.
Across Texas, young voters, Latino communities, and working class families are calling for leadership that reflects who we are and delivers real results. Jolt Action’s endorsements send a clear message: defend our rights, expand opportunity, and build a government that works for everyday Texans, not just those at the top.”
